BIRTHDAY STUFF.

as mentioned, sunday was my 29th birthday. and i went up to london on saturday for some zinefesting and a wee picnic. here be some photos, i'm too lazy to write about them, really.

the birthday cake i got TODAY (three days late, but w/e) from my neighbours. old lady upstairs commissioned the lady upstairs who makes cakes to make me a cat cake! it's not the prettiest cat, but damn if i'm not touched! you should have seen my face. seriously. ps. carl loves the bakery name ;) i haven't dared to cut into the cake yet, i think i might save it til we have company / carl's mum (&maybe brothers) come over to bring me my presents. i keep getting late presents. (still haven’t got carl’s proper one. cos he hasn’t even bought it yet. but you know what, i’m a big girl. i can wait. but with this long of a wait it better be fucking good.)


i don't particularly look 29, do i? i actually got ID'd on sunday buying cider.

DEAD UNTIL DUSK.

this is what i've been wearing for the past two days. it's too damn hot to wear real clothes. i did put on a skirt for the shops but that's it. thank fuck i had today off, and the same tomorrow. hopefully it'll get less stiffling asap. i'm really not looking forward to wearing that fucking polo shirt for work. icky fugly things.

in other fashion news, carl got me a plain purple poncho from illustrated people for my birthday (he's been working there for a couple of days, getting home real late and real sweaty after spending the day in an oven like shipping container packing t-shirts, so it makes sense to get something from them. and i quite like their stuff, cos at heart i'm a skins reject series -10 and you knows it.)



though i like to pretend it's a cape. capes are more fun. too bad it's too warm to wear it at the moment.

i got other stuff for my birthday too. some cook books, hello kitty's book of friendship, sweeties, lego harry potter game, smelly candles, temporary tattoos etc etc. and a purple leopard print shopping trolley bag, for zine events etc from carl's mum. she said she was going to get me one couple of weeks ago, so i knew to expect that. too bad i haven't got any zine events on my calendar in the near future. i got us some take away from the fancy looking indian down the road, authentic kashmir cousine for the same price as the sleazy looking tandoori place. it was fucking lush. i had a nice time up in london. enjoyed hanging out with grrrls and dancing and talking about feminist stuff outloud. awesome. kinda made me wanna move to london so i could hang out with lydia & laura all the time, but i don't actually like london. it gives me heart attacks. couldn't live there. visit, sure. live full time, no way.

djing this friday. haven't got a clue what i'm playing yet. not even 100% our cd burner works properly. i'm gonna nerd about it tomorrow. i need a theme. sort of. think i'm gonna go for summer jamz. any suggestions / requests? oh yeah, and it's kinda my birthday party.

♥ i got a belly full of spinach & ricotta lasagne (carl made it. good boy) and i found some fancy little fru key lime pies for 80p at sainsburys. bargainlicious!

♥ kinda wanna watch 'muriel's wedding'. it has been way too fucking long.

♥ i put a reminder in my phone’s calendar the other day for kent roller girls practise on july 18th in herne bay. i'm so ridiculously excited it's ridiculous. i better do this. i’ve never roller skated in my whole life. and i haven’t skated with anything at all in at least ten years. yet i think this is the best idea EVER. i can be all bruised up on the seaside. sounds good to me!

♥ it's my 28th birthday in a little over a week. i was going to make a post about how if you want to give me a birthday present, you could donate an amount of your choice to my tattoo fund. that's all i really want. well, my mum's given me money to buy a little digital camera, i'm just trying to decide what to get, and i think carl's lot might get me the harry potter lego game (well, i've been throwing some serious hints, and they know exactly how i feel about underage wizards..) but yeah, tattoo fund. i don't know which of my brilliant tattoo ideas i want to get, depends on how much money i manage to scrape together (if any) i'm gonna ask work to just donate to the tattoo fund too, rather than get me perfume or new look vouchers (other ladies' usual presents) so yeah, if you want, you can donate money towards my tattoo fund. i'll be grateful for anything at all. but if you don't / can't, i won't hold it against you, promise. my paypal is tukrulovesyou at gmail.com

♥ GIRL GERMS LADYFEST BENEFIT is also in about a week. i should really start thinking about my playlist. i predict at least some beyonce, christina aguilera, janelle monae, miley cyrus and lady gaga. with some best coast, shampoo & dum dum girls thrown in. you have been warned.

♥ i found out today that apparently my boss has next week off. and on top of that, i've got the first two days of the week after off. wow. now that is a birthday treat if there is one. 11 whole days without him in my face. oh joy.
