happy international women's day! i'll start with the good stuff. in honour of 101st international women’s day tomorrow, i have decided to donate 11% of all orders from vampire sushi distro for the rest of march to oxfam’s international women’s day fund since we didn’t get around to organizing our own tea party for it! here’s the rushed poster i made the other night for the tea party at the chatham oxfam..

though as per usual i have spent a large chunk of the day being grumpy at cisdudes going "what about international men's day?" *rolls eyes* (though i did manage to pop into town for distro post, buy a dress & a knitted miniskirt, and have a cup of coffee and some homemade cake at oxfam with the old ladies + a tammy annual from 1973 for zine stuffs) first of all it's not funny or clever, and it's the oldest 'joke' ever. and second of all besides all other days of the year essentially being dedicated to you lovely white cisdudes, if you did some simple googling you would know that international men's day is november 19th, so shut the fuck up. i may have told this to an old and quite dear friend from uni on facebook today but more politely. and also made a 2nd comment that i was VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HIM, though i deleted it straight after cos i'm a sissy and i hate confrontation, but unless he's disabled his notifications he knows. it felt kinda good calling him out because i spend SO MUCH TIME grinding my teeth at people and not saying anything because i dislike arguments. though mostly because i am bad at arguments and don't want to lose especially when i know for a fact i'm in the right but am unable to articulate my argument sufficiently to educate my adversary.

it seems to sneak up on me. maybe it's just february, and the fact it's a massive 2-3 days shorter than other months. or that i'm always fairly busy in february, what with it being carl's birthday and brighton zine fest.. but i completely did not realize that TYPICAL GRRLS is on thursday until a few days ago!

the sad thing is that i had a big full halloween weekend planned (party at a friend’s house tonight, gig organized by another friend on saturday and dressed up roller derby practice on sunday) but now it seems very much like i’m doing absolutely nothing at all, AS USUAL. my halloween plans always fall through, which is so not fair since it is my favourite holiday. i guess me & carl will just go on a horror film binge or something.. stupid fucking arm. 2010 officially blows. but i did get some good news today so hopefully that goes well and 2011 will be a year of new super exciting things!

i think i'm gonna go and zine now. about fucking time. though to be honest, on a normal sunday i'd only just be getting on the computer cos carl would have just gone to oxfam but today he had to go open it at ten cos it's the sweeps. doubt it's very busy though, it's raining and he said something about a severe weather warning. ha. anyway, means i should get more done and feel better by the end of the day. tomorrow's bank holiday monday, and i have to go to work. boo. well, it was either this bank holiday or the next one. i rather have the next one. a bit of extra time to recover from london zine symposium.
